This is a lovely bottle so would make a nice gift. It has a cork stopper so it feels more premium than just a screw top.
It’s absolutely delicious. The aroma is lovely and entices you to take a sip. It’s not harsh at all and you get immediate hints of vanilla and spice, followed by cherry and almond notes. Whilst you could use it with a mixer, it’s perfect on its own so that you can appreciate the flavours, and it leaves a pleasant warmth.
It’s not sickly sweet like other rums I’ve had - the sweetness is just right.
It’s 40% ABV so you can taste the alcohol, but not in an overpowering way.
For something of this superb quality, I’d say it represents good value for money, and I’d rather pay a little more for something so nice, rather than a cheaper run of the mill rum - and this is one of the best rums I’ve tried.
This is sublime. Lovely taste of vanilla, caramel and a hint of spice. I can see why this has won awards. One of, it not, the best rum I’ve had. Perfect on its own. Shame to mix it with anything to take away the lovely flavour. Well worth the price.
